Ben Gamel called up to replace Carlos Beltran
The New York Yankees have called up outfielder Ben Gamel to fill Carlos Beltran's spot on the 25-man roster following his trade to the Rangers. https://twitter.com/Joelsherman1/status/760194765128335360 He has not played in the Bronx since he was called up for a weekend series against the Royals following an injury to Brett Gardner, his last game being on May 11. With the Yankees he hit .125 in just nine plate appearances, with one hit and one walk. He is playing well this season for the RailRiders. In 432 plate appearances he is hitting .300 with 29 extra-base hits, 39 RBI, 62 runs scored and 17 stolen bases. Gamel is on the active roster for tonight's game against the Mets.
