Yankees legend Derek Jeter marries Hannah Davis
After much speculation, former Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter reportedly tied the knot with model Hannah Davis on Saturday, according to multiple sources. The ceremony took place on a golf course at the Meadowood Napa Valley Resort in St. Helena, California in a small, intimate ceremony with only family and close friends present. The couple has been together since 2012, and the former Yankee captain reportedly proposed to the 26 year-old Davis late last year. US Weekly also reports that the ceremony itself was fairly brief, with the couple walking around holding hands and “looking ecstatic” after the ceremony. Sources close to the couple have also stated that the two have a relationship that works very well and that the ex-Yankee is happily in love with his new wife. Details about the wedding have been hard to come by as both have gone to great lengths to maintain the privacy of their love life. “It’s that one part that’s a bit of a mystery to people, but that’s the way we want it,” Davis told Maxim magazine earlier this year. “The only way to protect it is not to talk about it.” Nevertheless, Jeter has been slightly more public about his long-term plans, telling People magazine, “I look forward to being a dad” in a 2014 interview. Incidentally, Jeter’s wedding comes five years to the day after he hit a home run to collect his 3000th career hit. It is unknown whether Jeter and Davis planned this, but it provides us with yet another example of the fortuitous placement that has helped turn Jeter into a legendary Yankee.
