Game 116: Cano Goes Grand

An error with two outs in the 7th inning haunts the Angels as Robinson Cano takes advantage of the bases loaded the best way, with a grand slam.

Curtis Granderson continues swinging a hot bat as he hit a two-run home run in the 6th to tie the game at 2.

After Bartolo Colon pitched 6 innings and kept the game tied at 2, Rafael Soriano continued to have strong outings since his return from the disabled list as he threw a scoreless 7th and earned the win today. Cory Wade's shaky 9th inning called upon Mariano Rivera with 2 on and 1 out. The first pitch Rivera threw was to pinch-hitter Russell Branyan, who notably hit the only home run in the upper deck of this Yankee Stadium, and the pitch was quickly served into right field to turn a 6-2 game into a 6-5 game. Rivera proceeded to get the final 2 outs and finished off today's game. The home run off of Mariano Rivera makes it 12 career home runs for Branyan against the Yankees.
